Marshall Fisheries Rules

These rules have been designed to protect the fish and to ensure that all members enjoy their fishing without disturbance. For the good of all, any member unable to keep the rules will be asked to leave and his/her membership cancelled and they will forfeit all fees paid.

  1. All members must be in possession of a current E.A. Rod licence to fish at Marshall Fisheries which should be carried at all times together with a Marshall Fisheries Membership Card. Membership cards/fees are not transferable or refundable. Full membership entitles the member(s) to fish Marshall Fisheries only.
  2. Membership fees are payable before 1st March each year. Members who fail to pay their subscriptions by the due date will lose their membership place, as numbers are strictly limited.
  3. Marshall Fisheries Members will be able to fish from 1st April until the 31st March (52 weeks a year).
  4. Any junior members (under the age of 16) must be accompanied by an adult member.
  5. Night fishing is allowed 7 nights a week.
  6. Please use the car park provided. Do not park on the banks.
  7. Fishing from numbered swims only.
  8. Two rods only, until the 1st November when a third rod may be used for the remainder of the season (31st March).
  9. No fishing tackle or equipment of any kind shall be left unattended in a swim for more than 3 hours in a 24-hour period.
  10. A suitable size unhooking mat and landing net must be used at all times when fishing for specimen size fish. Anyone not using one will be asked to leave the water.
  11. No keep nets or sacks may be used unless prior permission has been granted.
  12. No pre-baiting or ground baiting is allowed prior to fishing. The use of ANY NUTS eg TIGER NUTS and PEANUTS is strictly forbidden.
  13. No bent hooks are to be used under any circumstances. This includes "Fox Series 5's" and bent "Kamasan B175's".
  14. No lead core leaders are to be used under any circumstances. Braided main lines are allowed in conjunction with a minimum of a 20ft nylon leader. Please use safety rigs. RIGS WILL BE CHECKED.
  15. The use of Bait-Boats, Rubber Dinghies, Hard Bottom Boats, and Li-Los is strictly forbidden.
  16. When fishing for Pike, semi barbed trebles only to be used. No live baiting allowed.
  17. Dogs and/or radios, naked fires, pushchair's or prams are not allowed on the fishery. All litter and nylon must be removed from the fishery. Anglers fishing a swim which has litter strewn around will be deemed responsible for the litter and will be asked to leave the venue.
  18. All fish MUST be returned to the lake. Anyone trying to remove fish from the fishery will MOST DEFINITLY be prosecuted. There is a security procedure in operation. Members are asked to report, in confidence, any suspicious behaviour to the fishery owner/manager Craig Boxshall or to any bailiff present.
  19. Persons fishing at Marshall Fisheries do so at their own risk. Marshall Fisheries or its employees cannot be held responsible for any accident and/or injury to anglers or their possessions, however caused, whilst on the premises. It is the angler's responsibility to ensure they are protected and are aware of the dangers of fishing before entering Marshall Fisheries.
